Learning Resources Outside of the Classroom

The School of Communication offers a Speech Lab that is available to all students enrolled in Language and Communication who wish to improve their public speaking.  The Speech Lab is located in Room 34 of Fell Hall.   Remember, you are required to visit the Speech Lab prior to at least one of your presentations.  Among the resources available to students are:

  • Videotape and playback facilities for practicing delivery.
  • Advice and techniques for reducing speech anxiety.
  • Practice with or without feedback from trained Speech Lab staff.

The information presented here regarding the purpose and goals of this course as well as the learning resources available outside of the classroom is adapted from the Language and Communication (Com 110) Supplementary Materials Packet.
