Com grad launches children's books
Two sisters, Stephanie Robey of Madison, Wisconsin, and Sarah (Robey)Loeffelholz of Davis Junction, Illinois, have joined creative forces to fulfill a lifelong dream. They have published two picture books for children. The first book, entitled My Favorite Food, is a tale of eight-year-old Eunice who loves corn on the cob. The newest book, Can You Just Imagine, is a story of a young girl who puts her imagination to the test when she learns her mom is going to have a baby.

Of the inspiration for My Favorite Food Stephanie said, “One of my favorite things about summer as a kid was being my mom’s ‘big helper.’ I would sit on the back porch with her, husking the corn and picking off all those tiny hairs.” Sarah created vibrant watercolor and colored pencil illustrations for the 24-page hard cover book that have caused many smiles on the faces of both parents reading to children and young readers themselves. Reviewers have delighted in Eunice’s honesty, struggle, heart and logic.
About Can You Just Imagine, Sarah Loeffelholz shared, "This sweet story began as a gift Stephanie, my own big sister, wrote for me when I learned I was pregnant with my first child." The story content is appropriate for big sisters (and others) to read to children of all ages. Young readers themselves between five and nine years old will enjoy the book, too. Children love the detail provided in Sarah's illustrations in this 40-page hardcover book and will ask to read the story over and over again.
Although children’s books remain their primary passion, both women are accomplished in other creative endeavors as well. Sarah is versed in many artistic mediums, including canvas oils and acrylics. She also works as an elementary school art teacher. Stephanie holds a master’s degree in Written Communications and enjoys writing in many genres, including short stories, screenplays and poetry.
