- “An Evening with Elie Wiesel” October 7, Braden Auditorium, 7:00 p.m. Nobel Peace Prize-winner and Boston University professor Elie Wiesel has worked on behalf of oppressed people for much of his adult life. His personal experience of the Holocaust has led him to use his talents as an author, teacher and storyteller to defend human rights and peace throughout the world. Wiesel’s efforts have earned him the United States Congressional Gold Medal, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Medal of Liberty to name a few. Book signing following the presentation.
- PRSSA’s ‘Pie-A-Prof’ fundraiser will take place outside Fell Hall, Tuesday, October 7 and Wednesday, October 8, beginning at 10 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m.
- Milner Library will host a traveling panel exhibit titled Alexander Hamilton: The Man Who Made Modern America, October 16 – December 5. The panel exhibit examines Hamilton's central role during the Revolutionary War and our country’s Founding period in creating the economic, constitutional, social, journalistic, political and foreign policy templates for modern America.

- The SOC Faculty-Student Softball Game & BBQ: Starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday,
October 19, SOC graduate students and faculty will get together for
the annual gathering at Underwood Park in Normal. Directions to Underwood Park: head South on Linden past Vernon, then take left onto Jersey...park is on left.

- The School of Communication Night with the Bloomington Prairie Thunder hockey team will be Friday, November 14th at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. Once again, The Communicators (Drs. Baldwin, Courtright, and Perry) will sing the national anthem before the game. Tickets are $11.00 and include a post-game concert from December Radio.

- COM Week 2009 will begin with an Alumni reception on Sunday, April 5th. Various events will take place on Monday, April 6th thru Thursday, April 9th.
