Meeting Minutes

                             I.      Introductions/Discussion

a.     Martha Phares: Organizational Development Analyst in the Systems Department at State Farm. Martha is also the current president of the Bloomington-Normal AWC chapter.

                                                                              i.      Would like to see more involvement between SAWC and AWC

                                                                             ii.      Communication degrees are very flexible

b.      Jamie Leffelman:  Marketing consultant for Business Builders, a full service marketing outsourcing firm. Jamie graduated from ISU with a PR degree in 2003. She is heavily involved with event planning and copywriting various materials, in addition to public and media relations. Jamie has been a member of the AWC since 2003 and has held several positions within the organization.

c.      Bree Davis: Public Health Communications Specialist for the McLean County Health Department. Bree graduated from ISU in May 2006 with a B.A. in public relations and Spanish. She is responsible for media relations, internal and external marketing/advertising efforts, web communications, and community relations. Bree is also responsible for crisis and risk communication planning for the pandemic flu, bioterrorism, and general emergency preparedness response. She also writes for two Pantagraph publications: Business 2 Business and Health magazines.

                                                                           iii.      “Babies and Butterflies” campaign to reward mothers who continue correct prenatal care. Contact her to if you would like to help get this campaign off the ground.

                          II.      Getting more involved with the AWC

                                                                              i.      Meet on the third Monday of each month?

                                                                             ii.      Pottery night?

                                                                           iii.      Catered dinner?

                                                                          iv.      Other ideas?

                        III.      T-shirts

                                                                              i.      Approximately $14.50 each

                                                                             ii.      Money will be due when you pick them up after break

                                                                           iii.      Send an e-mail to Christy Stelzer (Christy_stelzer@yahoo.com) with your name, e-mail address, and size if you want a t-shirt and have not signed up yet.
